Fly to Zürich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA). Zurich is closer to Interlaken than Geneva.

Ticket machine
Buy your two-way ticket to Interlaken-Ost at Zurich or Geneva airport at a red ticket machine or at the ticket counter. Pay with your credit card.
- Price from Zurich via Bern: 140.– per adult (Duration 2:10–2:30 h, one or two transfers, depending on departure time)
- Price from Zurich via Luzern: CHF 100.— per adult (Duration 3:08 h, one transfer)
- Price from Geneva: CHF 146.– per adult (Duration 2:55 h, one transfer)
Note: Use the external page red ticket machines (which cover whole Swiss train system), not the blue ones labeled ZVV (which are only for tickets for the local network).
Supersaver ticket
Buy a external page supersaver ticket online and print at home. Important note about validity: The supersaver ticket is only valid for the selected date of travel and the selected public transport connection (train connection). The ticket might expire in case your plane’s arrival is delayed. Supersaver tickets are less expensive but less flexible and are generally for longer routes.
Tip
Luzern-Interlaken-Express
We recommend that travelers from Zurich airport take the route through Luzern (external page Luzern–Interlaken Express) in at least one direction because of the spectacular views along this route. However, the trip between Bern and Interlaken along several lakes is also very beautiful. The Swiss Transfer Ticket covers both connections. Get your tickets through one of the links above or at the station.
Luggage service
If your flight is with Swiss (the airline, or Edelweiss), then for your return journey you can use the external page flyrail service and check-in your luggage at the station in Interlaken-Ost the day before your flight. At the same time, you’ll also receive your boarding card, complete with seat assignment.
Automobiles
By rental car it’s approximately 1:50 from ZRH and 2:20 from GVA. Parking at hotel is CHF 10 or 20 per night for outside or inside parking, respectively.
