Research area
My research focus is to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying evolutionary adaptations in bacteria. Linking specific mutations to phenotypic changes in evolving lineages of Myxococcus xanthus allows us to identify novel genetic elements important for myxobacterial social traits such as fruiting body formation and social swarming.
