Research inquiries from prospective postdocs and students
Doctoral and postdoc positions
We welcome inquiries from highly motivated researchers from any relevant training background. Our group is historically composed of individuals from highly diverse scientific and geographic backgrounds.
Individuals interested in applying to join our group can send an email explaining your relevant research interests and background, along with a CV and contact information for references. Postdoc and PhD positions become available only occasionally, but prospective postdocs can coordinate to apply for competitive fellowships. Please contact us well in advance of a desired start date, preferably 9-12 months.
Applicants do not necessarily need to already have all skills required for prospective work in our group, but strong motivation and ability to learn new research approaches and skills as needed are critical.
Experimental systems: Most of our experimental work involves the myxobacteria. However, discussion of project ideas related to our conceptual themes of interest for which other experimental systems might be better suited is welcome, if they would be compatible with our laboratory infrastructure.
Master’s and bachelor’s student research
If you are a bachelor’s or master’s student interested in doing research in our group, please contact Greg Velicer, Sébastien Wielgoss, Nicco Yu or any other relevant group member.
